I am so happy terjumpa Dr Bubbles's blog yesterday. Lepas tu terus hantar komen, coz the last time I jumpa dia ialah September last year when he was in NYC.

That time I was so busy dengan United Nations General Assembly, bukan busy apa, busy menyibuk sebab my former colleague at Bernama - Muin in town to cover UNGA.

Anyway I had a good time with our dear Dr Bubbles, walaupun masanya singkat. Both of us managed to get some souvenirs from a shop at 34th street and dear Dr Bubbles also help us, me and nurul to bank-in some money back home - Maybank -.

Thanks again for the help and I am so glad that I have found your blog.

Again, thanks for the book that you send us too.

NYC Cover With Blanket of White

Winter Wonderland - We had our 1st accumulating snow for this year! Yeah! 1st winter weather of the year for New York City.

The snow began falling early in the morning, covering sidewalks and leaving roads slick. The Department of Sanitation says its entire fleet of salt trucks is out covering the boroughs and the flurries are expected to turn to sleet, making for a messy mix. But the salt trucks are expected to stay out on the streets into the evening.

Due to today's wintry weather, local airports are experiencing up to two hour delays.

Luckly today is Sunday so taklah ramai yang venture to work and less havoc... Well! tomorrow will be worst especially in the morning where everybody rushing to work.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner @ James Oseland's in Williamburg, Brooklyn. James is the Editor-in-Chief of Savuer Magazine and also the author of "Cardle of Falour - Home Cooking from the spice islands of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore"

Saturday in Princeton

Yesterday December 1, 2007, Me and Shaz when to Princeton to visits Haniza, kesian kat Niza yang sakit dan teringin nak makan nasi lemak. Sepatutnya ambik train NJ Transit from Penn Station at 10.14am tapi we terlambat so terpaksa ambik train pukul 11.14 am, because its on weekend, so trains and buses service especially going to New Jersey and Connecticut semuanya berjalan dengan jadual sejam satu. Kalau jadual hari bekerja ialah antara kekerapan 5-10 minit bagi sesuatu perjalanan.

Anyway we managed to get train at 11.14 am and sampai sejam kemudian, where Niza dah tunggu kita orang kat Princeton Junction station. From the station to Niza's house, which is at Lawrenceville, ambik masa 15 minit dengan kereta. But kita terus ke rumah Niza, we stop a few places untuk beli barang.

Guess what? In my bag to Niza's, ada dua ekor ayam, satu dah marinate untuk goreng, satu lagi, Shaz pesan sebab dia nak masak nasi briyani for dinner, cabai kering mesin untuk nak buat sambal tumis, dua labu bawang, daun padan and pekakas daging untuk tumis nasi minyak. Semua benda tu, I just masuk dalam my bag. Muat pulak tu...

We when to Great Wall Supermarket kat South Brunswick to buy more stuff like oriental food stuff including fruits. Than we stop over at Khan Baba, a pakistani shop to buy Basmati rice and eggs. From there, Niza drove us to Shop&Rite kat rumah dia for more stuff.

At the end of our shopping time, kereta Niza penuh dengan segala mak nenek barang makanan.

Ada orang tu, yang dilarang oleh doktor tak boleh angkat benda berat, sibuk nak tolong angkat benda yang kita semua beli, Shaz and me sibuk duk larang Niza from carring heavy stuff.

As usual, the chef is me, while Shaz and Niza are the sous chef, helping me cutting onion, vege and set up the so called "table" for us. We managed to cook nasi lemak in a small pot for 3 of us, sambal udang campur sotong, goreng terung and bawang, goreng sayur sawi, rebus telur, goreng ikan bilis and goreng ayam yang I have marinated from home.

We actually have our lunch at 4pm and makan sehingga menjilat jari :)

Both of them try to convince me to go for a movie together after I have told them that I just feel not keen to go out as the weather getting so cool and dark.

Niza berjaya dalam cubaan dia menyakinkan me to go after I realize the reason we are there is to cheer her up! Ok girls I am going! Niza also took us to her office where we collected a few reports book for her beside she wants to show Shaz her work place.

I have been there when I first make my visits to Princeton. So yesterday was the second for me.

After that we when to ACM theater in Hamilton for our movie - Enchanted - me and Niza punya la gelak coz the 1st part of the movie punya la lawak.

We went back to Niza's and had watermelon/cracker and apple pie/coffee before he held back home to New York City at 10.20 pm train.

Something happened to me, ??? I stopped at Newark Penn Station which is only 2 more stop before arrive in New York Penn Station, then continue journey back using PATH train to 33rd station. I finally arrived home at 12.35 am.

We had a good time with Niza, and I am happy that we have make her alive from her sickness.

Thanks Shaz and Niza! I had good time eventho short time.

Today..is my Birthday!

Well, it been such a long time, more that 3 months that I did not update my blog. And today since is my birthday, I think I should do so. I am older by a year!!!! and I am not exticed like what I used to be on every November 25. I feel a bit bored today!, maybe because Michael are not around. He has to work on weekend after given a so called title with a huge responsible in his work. Anyway since we are togther, we usually celebrated our birthday together as Michael's will be on November 28, just three days away from me. I also would like to wish those who celebrated their birhday in November, a very Happy Birthday, May God/Allah bless you in your life/health beside di murahkan REZEKI (as per my sister Nita wish for me). Here my wished to all people in my life - Michael - Sayang Ken'tuk - Happy Birthday! Many happy return! Love you! Halooo! Can you please don't be so damn strict! :) :) * Mami in Seremban - a very happy birthday - I love and missed you so much. * Daddy in Barbados - enjoyed your trip to Venezuala - and hope to meet you in future. Welcome To My World of blogging....

Gosh I couldn't believed that I already started my blog today... In the month of August, nothing special in August, just feel like to do so after debating for such a long time.

Anyway.. I have one now and nothing special about this blog, no serious topics and most contents are about my travel journal, picture and a bit on heritage or culture which I have experience myself especially the memory of my home land country Malaysia and the journey of my life while staying in the States.

Van Hughie Reis, Beelden en Erfgoed - which means The Hughie Travel, Pictures and Heritage - is actually my reminiscence to my great grandfather Ariffin Hughie's language.

For this three people Ariffin Hughie, Ali Ariffin Hughie and Yusof Ali Hughie, I would like to dedicate this blog for all of them as most of my memories of my life time especially during younger days concern the Hughie's family.

My special Thank to Michael Angelo for being so supportive and to Mamak, who pushed me to start my own blog.

Pray and hope that I will have the courage and time to update my new blog.
